RECRUIT
A Recruit is a gamer who has been invited to play with and get to know the eG gaming community. This time is to enable the gamer to decide if eG is the right online gaming community for them. After this period, the Recruit will be voted on by their peers and asked to join eG as a Private in a squad of a clan.
PRIVATE
The first responsibility of a Private is to register with the Community’s Record Keeper. A Private can be classified as a new member to eG. Responsibilities of a Private include knowing the Honor Code, meeting other eG members, and participating in clan matches. Your time spent as a Private is geared towards getting familiar with the Exodus Gaming community and the professional way we play.
Private’s Responsibilities:
- Register with record keeper. This must be done in a timely manner or his/her position in the squad will be terminated.
- Once registered, change Xbox profile Motto & Bio to show proper status.
- Learn, understand, and follow the Honor Code.
- Learn, understand, and follow the rank structure and chain of command.
- Participate in clan and squad activities as well as game with their squad.
- Attend squad meetings.
SERGEANT
As a Sergeant, leaders will be depending on you to learn game strategies and train with others in order to better prepare for clan or squad matches. A Sergeant is expected to set an example by being a role model for the Privates and Recruits below you and to help them whenever possible.
Sergeant’s Responsibilities:
- Follow the Honor Code.
- Follow the chain of command.
- Set an example by being a role model for the Privates and Recruits and help them whenever possible.
- Work closely with Lieutenants and Captains to learn new game strategies, attend practices, and train others in his/her squad.
- Attend squad meetings.
LIEUTENANT
A Lieutenant is the Captain’s right hand and the first line of defense in upholding the Honor Code. As a Lieutenant, you will be responsible for assisting the Captain in setting up meetings and practices, training lower ranking members, and finding potential recruits. The Lieutenant can also run practices and meetings when his/her Captain is not present.
Lieutenant’s Responsibilities:
- Be a dedicated and an active member in the squad.
- Follow and enforce the Honor Code.
- Assist the Captain in setting up meetings and practices.
- Train lower ranking members, and screen potential recruits.
- Take charge of meetings or practices if the Captain is not present.
- Attend squad meetings.
- Ensure no member is left behind!
CAPTAIN
A good Captain must possess the following qualities: leadership, the ability to positively reinforce the eG infrastructure, sound decision making, and dedication. As a Captain, you will need to evaluate all new recruits and vote on them, run practices and play squad/clan matches. The Captain is responsible for promoting his/her own Lieutenant to assist himself/herself.
Also, the Captain keeps track of squad records and lists by posting the squad list in the clan’s forum by the 1st and 15th of the month. This includes messaging the squad-on-squad/clan match results and meeting times. He/she must also ensure that all members follow the honor code, register with the RK, and behave in a professional manner.
The Captain will report any infractions directly to his/her Major, following the chain of command. The rank structure is there for a reason therefore do not take minor problems to Section Leaders or Division Leaders. A Captain becomes eligible for a promotion by displaying the above qualities and excelling in all his/her job responsibilities. As always, good communication is the key to success.
Captain’s Responsibilities:
- Know, understand, and be able to teach all the responsibilities of the lower ranks.
- Act in a professional manner at all times.
- Ensure members are following the Honor Code and have registered with the RK.
- Be active online in the game and on the forums.
- Show dedication and commitment while assisting his/her General run a successful clan.
- Run weekly meetings and squad practices as well as having a “Game Night” for your squad.
- Ensure members are in a squad with people that play the same game(s), if not transfer them to another Captain’s squad or possibly another clan.
- Evaluate and vote on new recruits.
- Train your Lieutenant as your replacement.
- Follow the chain of command and take issues to your General or Major, not higher ranks.
- Submit squad lists to the General using one the squad list prefixes with a color that represents the squad by the 1st and the 15th of the month.
- Ensure no member is left behind!
MAJOR
Majors are the 2nd-in-command to the General of a clan. As a Major, he/she is responsible for maintaining order whenever their General is absent. Responsibilities include all those listed in the “Captain” rank, as well as whatever the General decides to add.
GENERAL
Generals are the backbone of Exodus Gaming and should be respected by all eG members. As a General, he/she is a role model for the Majors and all the members of his/her squad. A General is responsible for running one eG squad, overseeing all aspects of his/her squad, as well as helping other squads when needed.
As a General, you must promote Majors and Captains to assist you in running the clan. Additionally, General’s will be responsible for updating his/her squad list and encouraging all members to utilize the squad’s forum. The General must ensure that all members have read and are playing by the Honor Code.
In addition, the General is expected to make sure all squad members are familiar with the rank structure and know who the leaders are in the community. Generals are also expected to meet with his/her squad weekly to discuss issues and vote on promotions within the squad. The General works closely with his/her Majors and Section Leader to create an enjoyable gaming experience for all. A General is responsible for taking care of minor matters within the squad.
The General is expected to report major infractions directly to his/her Section Leader or Division Leader. A General becomes eligible for a promotion by running a successful squad that represents what eG stands for. A General must display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of his/her online interaction. As always, good communication is the key to success.
General’s Responsibilities:
- Know, understand, and be able to teach all the responsibilities of the lower ranks.
- Run and oversee all aspects of one squad.
- Help other Generals when needed.
- Maintain a squad list at all times.
- Ensure all Captains update their squad list by the 1st and the 15th.
- Update your squad/members list on the forums on the 1st and 15th of every month using the prefix clan list.
- Hold weekly meetings with Captains and Lieutenants to discuss squad issues and pass on the latest information and community news.
- Attend the MANDATORY meeting [TBD] or notify his/her Section Leader if they cannot attend.
- Work closely with his/her Captains and Section Leader to create an enjoyable gaming experience for all members in the eG community.
- Handle issues in his/her squads with the Captains and take only major infractions to the Section Leader.
- Communicate in-game and on the forums, be spamming messages that are passed down from the eG leaders.
- Ensure all members know the rank structure and who the leaders are in the community.
- Request eG gamertags from Section Leader for approval.
- Ensure the Captain and squad is playing together in similar games and/or game types, if not transfer the member(s) to another
- General’s squad or possibly another squad.
- Ensure no member is left behind!
SECTION LEADER (XS)
The Section Leader position comes with many responsibilities, such as being directly responsible for running multiple successful clans. As a Section Leader, you are a role model for all Generals in your section. By accepting the rank of Section Leader, you are making a commitment to be a fair and responsible leader. This includes making yourself available several times a week to solve problems, hold meetings, and hearing new ideas.
The Section Leader work closely with his/her Generals to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner. The Section Leader will be responsible for ensuring that Generals turn in their squad lists on time and are meeting weekly with their squads. The Section Leader must attend one of his/her squad’s meetings per week to ensure participation and share community news.
The Section Leader decides what is appropriate and inappropriate and needs to be removed and warn offenders when the forum rules are broken. The Section Leader is also required to keep discipline within his/her squads and report any infractions directly to the Division/Community Leaders.
The Section Leader is directly responsible for ensuring Generals fulfill all their requirements listed in the Generals rank description. A Section Leader is eligible for a promotion after running and maintaining multiple successful squads that represent what eG stands for. A Section Leader must display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of his/her online interaction. As always, good communication is the key to success.
Section Leader’s Responsibilities:
- Must be active online and the forums on a regular basis.
- Be available to hear new ideas, suggestions, comments, and solve problems that arise within his/her section.
Work closely with his/her Generals to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner and following the Honor Code at all times. - Ensure that Generals post their squad list on time and finalize them by the 3rd and 17th of every month.
- Attend one squad meeting per week.
- Approve eG gamertags.
- Approve transfers within own section.
- Keep discipline within the squads and report any infractions directly to the Division Leaders.
- Post clan news, squad events, and communicating with the squads via his/her forum as well as the clans’ forums.
- Make sure Generals are fulfilling their responsibilities by evaluating them on a regular basis.
- Work closely with Division Leaders to promote eG in a positive way to all online gamers.
DIVISION LEADER (XD)
Division Leaders are responsible for specific Divisions. Division Leaders oversee and coordinate the Section Leaders. A Division Leader serves as a role model for all Section Leaders and the entire division. As a Division Leader you will be working closely with Community Directors to make decisions that affect your Division as a whole. A Division Leader must work closely with the Section Leaders to oversee all activity within his/her Division, and to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner that represents eG. Communication and decision making are the two most important qualities of a Division Leader.
Often you will be pulled in many different directions so it is imperative that you exercise good judgment and patience. A Division Leader will deal with many stressful situations and must be fair but firm, and represent the best that eG must offer. A Division Leader should keep an open line of communication with all the Section Leaders and hold weekly meetings to communicate direction. The Division Leader also has the ability to start new clans.
The Division Leaders is also a Super Moderator on the website and is responsible for posting Division news, Division events, and communicating with his/her Division via his/her forum. The Division Leader decides what is appropriate and inappropriate and must remove and ban offenders when forum rules are broken. A Division Leader must display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of his/her online interaction. As always, good communication is the key to success.
Division Leader’s Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the Section Leaders.
- Serves as a role model for all Section Leaders and the entire division.
- Work closely with Community Directors to make decisions that affects his/her Division as a whole.
- Work closely with the Section Leaders to oversee all activity within his/her Division, and to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner that represents eG.
- Keep an open line of communication with all the Section Leaders and hold weekly meetings to communicate the direction of the Community.
- Start or approve new clans.
- Post Division news, Division events and communicate with their Division via their forum.
- Move their gamertag (Xbox Live, PSN) weekly into new clans to communicate with the members and address any issues within the Division.
- Display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of their online interaction.
- Evaluate Generals for promotion to Section Leaders
COMMUNITY DIRECTORS (XC)
The highest attainable rank in the Exodus Gaming Community. Community Directors are responsible for Exodus Gaming and all divisions there-in. Community Directors are the role models for the entire eG family. They are responsible for helping the Division Leaders with decisions pertaining to their specific Division in the community. Directors work with the Division Leaders to train and identify new and upcoming Leaders.
Community Directors are required to meet with Division Leaders weekly and discuss issues and ideas. Community Directors are required to help build eG in new games and different online platforms. Community Directors are also Super Moderators/Administrators on the website and are responsible for posting community news, upcoming community events and communicating with the community via their forum.
Community Directors decide what is appropriate and inappropriate and must remove and ban offenders when forum rules are broken. Community Directors must display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of their online interaction.
The Council of Elders (XI)
The Council of Elders is made up of the founding members of eG. The Council works within a democratic structure voting on what is best for all of eG. These ideals keep the community from being about one person’s quest. The Council is led by the Creator and the Co-Creator. Membership is determined by them as well. Any propositions of promotions to Section Leader, Division Leader, or Community Director, must be approved by The Council of Elders, the Co-Creator, and the Creator.
Co-Creator
The Co-Creator is the 2iC of the Exodus Gaming Community. The Co-Creator assists the Creator by overseeing all activities within the community. Responsible for leading The Council of Elders meetings in place of the Creator. Responsible also for leading Community Director meetings. Oversees Division Leader meetings. The Co-Creator is also a Super Moderator and has the highest access on all eG sites. The Co-Creator also oversees all official eG discord servers with the Creator. This rank can never be reached. It is a title only held by 1 person.
Creator
The ultimate authority of the Exodus Gaming Community. The Creator oversees, and has the highest access to, all websites, all discord servers, and any meeting he attends. Leads the Council of Elders and the Community Directors. This rank can never be reached. It is a title only held by 1 person.
